Manufactured in Chicago by the Three Dimension Company beginning in the early 1950s, their sales were so successful that the Chicago firm of Bell & Howell, a long established projector manufacturer, purchased the Three Dimension Company to expand their projector line
Bell & Howell continued to produce the stereo projectors under the TDC brand name, continued to produce a Standard model with the same internal and external design
Features of the TDC Standard 116 Projector:
--Slide carrier or carriage is constructed with an internal barn door to produce black-out when changing slides
--Easy to remove and clean condensing lenses and heat shield placement holders
--Two improved technology, 500 watt halogen projection bulbs increasing brightness by 20% with no increase in electricity draw of heat produced.--Halogen bulbs that increase average operable life of four times its incandescent original equipment bulbs.
--Halogen bulbs that do not deteriorate in color temmeperature with age, but remain near daylight in color.
--Availability of optional upgrade to matched 4" fl lenses over standard matched 5" fl lenses
--Availability of optional upgrade to a Selectron Carriage that utizes slides trays of 30 slides at a time.
Offered here is a cosmetically fine TDC Standard 116 Projector with standard matched 5" fl lenses, power cord, four plastic frame linear polarized glasses for 3D viewing, plus facsimile copy of original instructions.
