Stereo Realist Film Camera, Model ST-42, f2.8 - vintage Excellent Condition David White f2.8 Anastigmat lenses
Five years into the production of the Stereo Realist cameras , the prospect for a souped-up camera became a reality. The Stereo Realist ST-42 was born. Increasing the top shutter speed to 1/200 second from 1/150 second meant greater versatility on bright sun-shining days and with faster ASA (DIN) films. Plus lenses opened up to f2.8 from the standard f3.3.5 also meant greater versatility at the lower light situations.
At first the Kodak Ektar f2.8 lenses were too expensive for continued production, so in 1954, at the height of Realist camera production, the f2.8 Stereo Realist with David White Anastigmat lenses went into production
This ST-42, the f2.8 Stereo Realist was produced between 1956 and 1971. It is in excellent condition with a single modification (improvement) made by a former owner. The dedicated synchronized flash hot shoe has had a universal PC plug installed, opening up unlimited electronic flash possibilities.exposure counter
