THE MAN OF 3-D is about Jacobus Ferwerda's experiences as a pioneer of stereo photography, despite the difficulties in war-torn Europe, and his ingenuity in constructing cameras, projectors and mounting devices for a variety of stereo applications.
Born in Rotterdam in 1910, he became interested in stereo photography at the age of ten. Follow Koo Ferwerda's experiences with stereo projection, read about his large base pictures as well as his close-up/macro images and his involvement with the Dutch 3D Club. Many illustrations follow his life's story.
The images on the 3 reels range from a breathtaking vista of Paris from the Eiffel Tower taken in 1935 to a close-up of an Alpine Anemone showing depth from a few inches to infinity. Also images of the Delta Works (sand dam in Holland), macros of pine needles & dragon-fly, Kayaks in Greenland, Morrocan market and many more.
The album contains 30 pages of text with slots in the back for the 3 reel storage. Each image has a detailed description.
