Lunar Phases - 3D Action Lenticular Postcard Greeting Card - Maxi
8x8 inches - in clear protective reusable sleeve
The illuminated (sunlit) portion of the Moon grows and shrinks as the Moon orbits the Earth. A full cycle takes 29.5 days. When the Sun and Moon are aligned on the same side of the Earth, the side of the Moon facing Earth is in shadow and the Moon is "new". As the Moon waxes (the illuminated are increases), the lunar phases progress through new moon, crescent moon, first-quarter moon, gibbous moon and full moon. Then the Moon wanes (the illuminated area decreases) and the phases reverse back to new moon once again.
