REELMaster 3D reels are designed for use in constructing View-Master type reels using modern cameras (film & digital), and hand cut or guillotine cut images.
NOTE: These ReelMaster blank reels are for use with hand or guillotine cut images from modern cameras. If using a Sawyer's View-Master Personal Camera used in coordination with a Sawyer's FC-1 Film Cutter (3Dstereo's product number: VVA-FC1), you must use original View-Master brand blank reel mounts (3Dstereo's product number: MTS-RM),
Designed as a do-it-yourself kit, you create your own reels from pre-punched and pre-printed reel mount halves. The steps are made simple by applying adhesive (glue stick, spray adhesive on the left inner half); film chips cut from cutter are laid in place using the printed numbers and spider outline as placement and alignment guides. When all film chips are in place, glue is applied on the right half and folded over fitting exactly in place over the left half. The completed reel mount can be easily punched out and the mount is ready after drying.
Construction Tips: Tweezers are recommended for handling your film chips during the application to your reels. If using glue sticks, use a permanent glue stick with WHITE paste only. It is a good idea to use a glue stick that is in an air conditioned or cool environment. A warm or humid glue stick may not spread thinly or evenly. If you are not sure, refrigerate your glue stick prior to use. A small lightbox (light table) is recommended to construct your reels for easy alignment viewing.
When using REELMASTER 3D for the first time, you may consider making a "practice reel" with film chips you can waste. This way you can become accustomed to the application without making future mistakes.
