Description:
Great Smoky Mountains National Park, North Carolina & Tennessee. The National Park covers over 800 square miles, making it the largest upland national park in the East. Elevations range from 850 feet at Abrams Creek to 6,643 feet at Clingman's Dome. The Park was established in 1934 and is renowned for its biological diversity. Over 1,500 flowering plants live in the park and there are more species of native trees in the Smokeys than in all of Europe.
