Nine-Banded ARMADILLO - 3D Lenticular Postcard Greeting Card
4x6 inches - In clear protective reusable sleeve
The nine-banded ARMADILLO is rapidly expanding its range in the southeastern US. A single female produces up to 56 young in her 12-to-15 year life. Protected by armor made of bone plates and surprisingly fast when predators approach, the armadillo is honored as the state small mammal of Texas. Solitary and nocturnal, they burrow extensively and mostly eat insects. When startled, they jump 3 to 4 feet in the air, often colliding with the undercarriage of cars on the highway. Thousands fall victim to auto accidents every year.
