The world developed 35mm film in cartridges for 24x36mm 2D images for what was to be the 'miniature camera' (1930s to present). Kodak went for a slightly different format they named 828 film. Kodak lost, the rest of the world prevailed.
And in that time period, a few other manufacturers had bet on Kodak, producing cameras for 828 film.
The Alhambra, California company, Haneel Tr-Vision Company, produced this most unusually designed stereo camera for 828 Kodak film.
A mostly plastic body featuring a f8 menicus lenses, the Haneel Tri-Vision stereo camera is unique in its 'streamlined' styling, the Handle Trim-Vision is a significant departure from the competing 35mm stereo film cameras. the primary difference is that the Tri-Vision uses 828 film (produced until 1985) which produced images 40mm x 28mm (compared to the 36mm x 24mm of 35mm film).
Made of black bakelite with aluminum appurtenances, the Haneel Tri-Vision has often been compared to that 1940s streamlined automobile front grill look.
Because it is difficult to try to utilize 35mm film in an 828 film camera, the Haneel Tri-vision Stereo Camera remains a collectible camera, beautiful and provocative when on display.
