View-Master 2D Sawyer's S1 Projector - vintage
The first 2D projector (1949) produced by Sawyer's was this S1 projector. Over-produced (quality-wise), the projected is made of cast metal with a crinkle paint finish.
Illuminated by a 75watt bulb with a 3" lenses, it is brighter than the Standard and Junior projectors produced in the decades to follow.
Unique features found only in the S1 Projector are a movable 'joy stick' which corresponds to an on-screen pointer and a low-lighted window on the side that displays the printed caption of the image being shown.
Truly not intended a an instrument for children only, no subsequent projector was made with the same quality until the 3D Stereo-Mastic 500 Projector.
